This project started out as a simple proof-of concept. We were just getting started making iPhone apps and wanted to learn some simple things like how buttons work and things are animated on the screen. Not surprisingly, the bail-outs were being mentioned everywhere so it seemed like a logical idea for a novelty app. And the rest is history.
